The Progressive® Insurance Minneapolis Boat Show® Drops Anchor at the Minneapolis Convention Center

The 2020 Progressive® Insurance Minneapolis Boat Show® will drop anchor at the Minneapolis Convention Center January 23-26, 2020, providing a one-of-a-kind opportunity for guests to shop and see the latest and greatest boats and marine accessories and technology, swapping the winter blues for thoughts of summer fun. Minnesota is number one in boat ownership per capita, and the Minneapolis show is the longest running boat show in the region.
 
Highlights of the 2020 Minneapolis Boat Show include:
 
?       More than 700 boats and 230 exhibitors, including pontoons, fishing boats, tow boats and cruisers, offering attendees the best deals and the chance to shop and compare the newest products firsthand, guaranteeing their new boats will arrive just in time for spring. For anyone not ready to buy, the show will have exhibitors with information on boat clubs and rentals.
?       This year’s Queen of the Show is a must-see: MarineMax will display a 39’6”Sea Ray SLX400with a MSRP at $680,000.
?       New! The “Land of 10,000 Lakes” Lifestyle Experience will honor our water-loving state and transport you to warmer days on the water, complete with cocktails, food and fun. Enjoy live musical entertainment by Mick Sterling Presents musicians Bobby Vandell and Johnny Brown Thursday – Saturday from 4 – 8 p.m.
?       Aperennial favorite, the Antique & Classic Boat Display presented by the Bob Speltz Land-O-Lakes chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, will feature vintage wooden, fiberglass and aluminum boats from bygone eras. This year’s featured boat is Dixie Baby, a historic race boat restored to its 1921 glory.
?       Twin Cities Beach Bash, where families can build sandcastles with kinetic sand, check out milk carton boats from the Minneapolis Aquatennial, and partake in the “Discover-a-Boat” scavenger hunt.
?       Boating Skills Virtual Trainer, where you can take the helm and set out on a simulated boat ride to practice skills such as docking, pivot turns, stopping and more, using a real steering wheel and Mercury throttle.
?       Career Day on Friday, Jan. 24, where exhibitors will present opportunities to anyone who wants to learn more about the careers in the marine industry. Students from local high schools, technical colleges and universities will hear from speakers about aluminum and fiber installation and repair, mechanics, manufacturing, marina operation, marketing and more.
?       Winners of the 2020 Minneapolis Innovation Awards, which honor manufacturers who have released the best new products in the boating industry, will be featured throughout the show, and are chosen on Wednesday, January 22, during the show’s “Sneak Preview” night.
